• Goat Square ‘Ziegenmarkt’ Reserve Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021

    $18.50

The 2021 is exceptional being from the 10/10 vintage 2021. This makes it the eighth release of Ziegenmarkt.

The reasons why the Barossa is associated with rich flavours is complex though is due to the geography, the inland summer heat and cooling air from the west. We now know enough to say that no other place on earth duplicates these conditions. Shiraz takes on a concentrated, heady flavour, with a luxurious mid-palate sensation of fruit sweetness.

  • Goat Square ‘Ziegenmarkt’ Reserve Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

    $18.50

As the Australian palate has matured so the interest has grown for the warmer, fuller richer styles of Cabernet.

  • Crayford Barossa Valley Grenache 2023

    $14.80

The 2023 vintage intrigued us as early on we noted the amazing fruit aromas. Best drink young was one thought and for this Grenache that remains my advice as I find it extraordinary. Treat this like a big, sappy young red. Just gorgeous.

  • Karrawirra Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

    $16.50

The Barossa Valley has a long history with Cabernet though it’s not rated as highly as the Shiraz which is wrong. We made just under 100 cases.

  • Glug Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet Mataro N.V.

    $12.80

I preach younger is better and in this case this is balanced by the wine being recently bottled and freshened with 2022 just before bottling. I see the role of this wine as being for the many occasions where a drink is required but not worthy of opening one of the best bottles.

  • Auld & Burton Barossa Valley Mataro 2017

    $11.80

Handmade wines of this quality is what decent wine merchants discover for customers.

  • Auld & Burton Barossa Valley Merlot 2017

    $11.80

Merlot is like a perfumed and plumper version of Cabernet. Add the Barossa origin and it is richer again.

  • PB. Burgoyne Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

    $11.80

Cabernet grapes from warmer regions like the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley make exceptional wines though both districts have been sidelined by the rise of Cabernet wines from the cooler Yarra Valley and Margaret River. This Cabernet was bottled by Glug and you can approach it with confidence.

  • Vine to Glass Barossa Valley Grenache 2023

    $14.70

Grenache has been promoted by Glug since our start, part of our mission, and samples now being offered to us have moved from curios to wines rivalling the best made anywhere around the Globe.

  • Oakley Adams McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020

    $12.60

McLaren Vale is a sea-side location as it fronts St Vincent Gulf.

  • The Regions Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

    $13.80

The reason there are so many Glug brands is because we prefer to bottle each wine to preserve the difference, however tiny. Overriding all of the small differences is the flavour of the Barossa Valley and the Glug style which favours full flavours. Expect from us a red over 14% alcohol as we are not excited by the flavours of low alcohol reds.

  • Glug Barossa Valley Shiraz Mataro N.V.

    $12.80

Mataro has been the backbone of many Barossa Shiraz for decades because it blends well with Shiraz.

  • Glug ‘Welcome to Glug’ South Australia Full Flavoured Red Mixed Dozen

    $125.00

The perfect mixed dozen of reds to give you a taste of what we do – Great Quality Wines at Affordable Prices.

  • Stonevale ‘Red Barn’ Barossa Valley Shiraz Mataro 2014

    $11.60

For fifty years Barossa winemakers have been adding Mataro to Shiraz because it works. Ten to twenty percent Mataro adds a great deal of complexity to Shiraz and lengthens the palate

  • Glug ‘The Long Shot’ Barossa Valley Primitivo Shiraz 2023

Original price was: $13.70.Current price is: $10.00.

This is a red you will enjoy being a blend of the Italian variety Primitivo with our local favourite Shiraz. Shiraz is the outstanding variety for Australia and rises to heights that eclipse any other Global region. The blend with Primitive works as this variety also responds to our local summer heat. A pleasing addition to the Glug portfolio.

  • P. B. Burgoyne Eden Valley Shiraz 2022

    $13.60

There are some fabulous vineyard clusters and those developed by the Henschke family at Keyneton illustrate the wine quality that can be achieved. The origin of the Burgoyne Shiraz is from the low Eden Valley where the reds are plumper than the far cooler high Eden. Still the low parts of the Eden Valley are one hundred or more metres higher than the Barossa Valley so expect a Shiraz that highlights different flavour aspects.

  • The Green Patch Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Original price was: $13.80.Current price is: $10.00.

To describe the setting for this Cabernet we must return to the debate of the role of climate-weather in the development of wine flavours and from this whether cool climate wines are better than warm climate wines.

  • Auld & Burton Clare & Barossa Valley Cabernet Merlot 2017

    $12.20

At Glug, wines come and go quickly. Here we have used two varieties from two regions in various proportions. I find more Clare in the final blend than Barossa so look for a touch less heat and higher altitude flavours. Finally explaining the Clare flavours continues to defy me.

  • Glug ‘The Escapee’ Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Original price was: $14.60.Current price is: $10.00.

In a district like the Barossa Valley the long summer never ends and grapes can be left hanging well into April or May and you can watch the berries shrivel in the heat. Vintage 2021 was favourable for the development of flavours and is as close to 10/10 as is possible. The grapes for this Glug Cabernet were harvested for full ripeness in the Glug style. We prefer drinking wines when younger though this wine will hand around in a good cellar for a long time.

  • Cellar Range Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

    $14.50

Back in October we were given our choice of barrels of Clare Valley reds from a five-star rated winery. While they retained the very best to be able to select what we wanted from the rest we knew was a rare honour.
