• Farmers & Growers ‘The Ploughman’ South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Original price was: $8.00.Current price is: $5.00.

QDR’s is shorthand for quaffing dry reds which is a Glug specialty. They are handcrafted from a base of the major variety which is adjusted with wines from premium regions.

  • Landaus Vintners ‘The Diviner’ South Australia Shiraz Grenache 2022

Original price was: $8.80.Current price is: $7.00.

I rate this Diviner as the best we have made and that is because of the base we discovered last year. Also supplies of warm climate Grenache have improved allowing us to spread this resource into wines like the Diviner.

  • Glug Barossa Valley Shiraz Mataro N.V.

Original price was: $12.80.Current price is: $8.00.

Mataro has been the backbone of many Barossa Shiraz for decades because it blends well with Shiraz.

  • Crayford Barossa Valley Grenache 2023

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $9.00.

The 2023 vintage intrigued us as early on we noted the amazing fruit aromas. Best drink young was one thought and for this Grenache that remains my advice as I find it extraordinary. Treat this like a big, sappy young red. Just gorgeous.

  • Cellar Range Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Original price was: $14.50.Current price is: $11.00.

Back in October we were given our choice of barrels of Clare Valley reds from a five-star rated winery. While they retained the very best to be able to select what we wanted from the rest we knew was a rare honour.

  • Karrawirra Single Vineyard ‘Fan Block’ Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019

Original price was: $26.00.Current price is: $15.00.

The pick of the best Barossa end up as Karrawirra Single Vineyard bottlings. Single vineyard wines are not made every vintage and appear only when they are the ultimate expression of the Barossa Valley.

  • Glug ‘The Long Shot’ Barossa Valley Primitivo Shiraz 2023

Original price was: $13.70.Current price is: $10.00.

This is a red you will enjoy being a blend of the Italian variety Primitivo with our local favourite Shiraz. Shiraz is the outstanding variety for Australia and rises to heights that eclipse any other Global region. The blend with Primitive works as this variety also responds to our local summer heat. A pleasing addition to the Glug portfolio.

  • Terrene Estates South Australia Shiraz Cabernet 2022

Original price was: $10.60.Current price is: $8.00.

This blend of the two most popular red varieties in Australia dates back a long way, perhaps to the 1930s.

  • Oakley Adams Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $12.80.Current price is: $10.00.

Impressive Shiraz and the reason we return time and again to Langhorne Creek for wines that combine high quality with customer value.

  • The Green Patch Barossa Valley Riesling 2024

Original price was: $14.20.Current price is: $9.00.

This Barossa Riesling is an each-way bet showing cool-warm climate features. It is the first we have offered since the retail days of the 1970s. Will age well.

  • Trial Bin 093 Barossa Cabernet Merlot Cabernet Franc M.V.

Original price was: $10.40.Current price is: $8.00.

Great wines have been produced since the red wine trials of the 1950s by Max Schubert showed us the way. These evolved into Penfolds Range and the sweeping range of Bin numbers of today. This Trial Bin 093 helps us understand the blending of Barossa Valley with Eden Valley wines.

  • Langdorf Kaldukee Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Original price was: $11.40.Current price is: $9.00.

Expect a fuller riper taste as what Barossa Cabernet demonstrates is that each variety can be grown across a wide ripening spectrum.

  • Light & Finniss Fleurieu Peninsula Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

    $11.50

Colonel Light and Boyle Finniss began the job of surveying South Australia on the Western side of the Fleurieu Peninsula on the 17th September 1836, 141 years before this Cabernet was made and named after them.

  • Limited Release Batch BX7 Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $11.00.

Glug makes wine plus we are opportunity buyers of wines made by others. We know the wines we like and to make Glug blends like this BX7 we create bench trials that combine out large stocks with these small amounts we purchase from others. Such small blends add variety to your drinking though are true to the Glug style of big flavour.

  • Langdorf Kaldukee Barossa Valley Mataro 2020

Original price was: $12.40.Current price is: $8.00.

Bit by bit the status of Mataro is growing with Glug seeing Mataro as a variety of great significance from warm climate regions.

  • Glug ‘Sunday Drive’ Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2023

Original price was: $14.60.Current price is: $9.00.

Adelaide Hills vineyards are small and variable. A bit of good ground here and a further tiny parcel over the hill crest. Pocket handkerchief vineyards. Less common is exposure to the summer heat which ripens Shiraz and this ‘Sunday Drive’ we found irresistible and so purchased from a small garagiste maker. Cool climate though in the style of Eden Valley.

  • Fareham Estates Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Original price was: $15.60.Current price is: $10.00.

A big rich, juicy Cabernet, minty, intense flavours, being part of the ‘five star red haul’ we stumbled across in mid-2024. Five stars being the winery rating of the wine writer James Halliday. Halliday published ‘Clare Valley-the history the vignerons and the wines’, in 1985. He devotes a section to Fareham Estate which was founded in 1966.

  • Glug ‘GH53’ Winemaker’s Individual Barrel Selection Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Original price was: $14.20.Current price is: $10.00.

Since 2016 we have been bottling the best of the best which are always in small volumes, and can be single barrels. The first bottled in-house single barrel was released in late 2017. They are now a regular part of the Glug yearly production.

  • Hopcroft & Cornock McLaren Vale Merlot 2019

Original price was: $14.20.Current price is: $8.00.

High quality and low prices is a sum we like, hence this remarkable wine from McLaren Vale, a district with a climate well suited to this variety.

  • Mount Eagle Eden Valley Cabernet Syrah 2022

Original price was: $14.10.Current price is: $10.00.

The best way I can describe this Mount Eagle is to appreciate that the medium density, the result of the location, displays a range of flavours, perhaps fragrant, which tend to be masked in wines from the adjoining Barossa Valley.
