Waitohi Springs Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc 2022
$12.50We were in two minds about this Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine passes our taste tests yet was already in bottle. The wine is true to style and because the flavours of Marlborough and New Zealand have such distinctive characters we badly needed an example for our customers since it is the biggest selling wine style in Australia. We did our best. You will love the wine but value wise it just sneaks in.

Glug ‘Rusty Shed’ Clare Valley Shiraz 2022
Original price was: $14.80.$10.70Current price is: $10.70.There is a wonderful ‘lookout’ in the Clare Valley at the end of Spring Gully Road. Looking west into the far haze is the top end of the Gulf country and then you can imagine the Nullarbor Plain continuing on forever.
-
Telegraph Road South Australia Shiraz Cabernet 2018
$7.50Our idea for this Telegraph Road was two good base wines which in-turn are blends and both with adequate barrel age. Wines like this are not world beaters but useful drinks and please note they have been bottled al late 2023 from barrel stock.
-
Vine to Glass McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020
$14.30What a beautiful Shiraz, full, rich but firm and shows no sign of excess. This gem fell our way late last year and is now in bottle, being part of the steady build-up of high-quality boutique wines which we are nibbling at. Drink this with a similar Barossa and enjoy the differences. Alcohol at 15.4% shows the style.

‘The Regions’ McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020
$14.50Tasting McLaren Vale wines with those of the Barossa Valley is a fascinating experience as the chill of the Ocean plays with the summer heat of the ripening period to different degrees. Both districts should be a regular part of your drinking and the subtlety is to see the difference and not say one district is better than the other.
-
Parawatta Eden Valley Riesling 2022
$14.80If Riesling has its type location in Germany and Austria we next have to ask why Riesling can make such a superlative wine in faraway Australia. Let us just enjoy that these wonderful tastes exist and thank the versatility of Riesling.

Albion Hills Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2021
$14.80In general Glug supports the move to flavour from the fruit with less emphasis on the flavour that builds from maturation or ageing. This Shiraz is worth every penny.
