• Old Moppa Road Barossa Valley Primitivo 2023

    $13.70

The climate of the Barossa Valley creates full flavoured wines that charge across the palate. In addition, they show complexity, and it is this combination that has fascinated consumers and winemakers for so long. These flavours play out in the traditional varieties Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache and Mataro.

There are other varieties planted, though all in small lots, that have been trialled for several decades and these include, Carignan, Durif, the many Portuguese port varieties, Primitivo or Zinfandel and many others. These interest Glug as we see our role as introducing new styles and unfamiliar varieties to our customers-to keep up their wine interest.

  • Fareham Estate Clare Valley Shiraz 2022

    $15.40

There is something about the geography of the Clare Valley and how this reacts with the climate that finds its way into the Shiraz and Cabernet. They bring to the glass an additional and unusual fragrance, a minty delicacy, which is quite thrilling.

  • Mount Eagle Eden Valley Cabernet Syrah 2022

    $14.10

The best way I can describe this Mount Eagle is to appreciate that the medium density, the result of the location, displays a range of flavours, perhaps fragrant, which tend to be masked in wines from the adjoining Barossa Valley.

  • Roxton McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

    $14.60

McLaren Vale has won more Trophies and Gold medals for Cabernet than for Shiraz and this is attributed to the ocean influence and associated cooling breezes. Globally it is believed that the best Cabernets come from districts with a maritime location, a view developed from the French understanding of flavour development.

  • Glug ‘Sandcastle’ Barossa Valley Grenache 2024

    $13.80

Not long-ago Barossa Grenache had no following so it is pleasing that advanced drinkers now realise the wonder of the Barossa expands far beyond Shiraz. Varieties such as Grenache and Mataro were included in large blends from the 1950s yet this was seldom mentioned on the label.

  • Stockwell Creek Basket Pressed Barossa Valley Grenache 2023

    $22.50

The Barossa Valley may well be the finest place to grow Grenache and Glug have been supporters since 2004.The best we make can be found in our Stockwell Creek range.

  • Farmers Museum Selection Fine Old Barossa Valley Tawny 750mL

    $55.00

Great vintages happen when everything goes just right such as a long even ripening without stress on the vine and thus the bunches of grapes. The excitement grows that 2021 will be one of the classics and I have my finger crossed that it may equal the 1996.

  • Karrawirra Single Vineyard ‘Fan Block’ Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019

    $26.00

The pick of the best Barossa end up as Karrawirra Single Vineyard bottlings. Single vineyard wines are not made every vintage and appear only when they are the ultimate expression of the Barossa Valley.

  • Kitts Creek Barossa Valley Rosé 2024

    $14.80

I am sick to death of those praising all things cool climate. Both warm climate whites and rosé have more flavour and thus have a place at the table. The one proviso is that they must be made with the most advanced equipment.

  • Stockwell Creek Basket Pressed Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2023

    $22.50

This is a natural blend for the Barossa and moving the percentage of Shiraz helps to display the merits of Grenache and Mataro. The Stockwell Creek range of wines represent those Barossa reds which we believe express a little further the best of Barossa.

  • Old Moppa Road Barossa Valley Mataro 2021

    $14.50

Mataro loves a climate like the Barossa Valley and customers will enjoy the length and strength of the resulting flavours.

  • Roxton McLaren Vale Merlot 2023

    $14.60

Roxton has a long history as a McLaren Vale brand though had faded and abandoned by the 1960s. The advanced customer should compare and enjoy Merlot from McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley with our view being McLaren Vale has the edge.

  • Barbarossa Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet Durif Mataro 2022

    $15.80

NMD is short for ‘no more details’ and is the game we played with the early releases of the Barbarossa. The name Barbarossa and knowledge that it was 100% Barossa Valley was all customers were told. A real guessing game.

  • Oakley Adams Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2023

    $12.50

There is a central spine of higher ground that runs down Adelaidean Mount Lofty Range and vineyards are planted up to 600 metres. The wines from these vineyards have cool climate flavours because of the altitude. This region east of Adelaide is termed the Adelaide Hills and is the source of this Shiraz. It comes though from lower elevations so tastes like a cool climate Barossan or a wine from Eden Valley.

  • Teusner Bilmore Shiraz 2021

    $21.90

Named after the legendary, multifaceted Roger Bilmore!

  • Bengalee Barossa Valley Grenache 2024

    $16.50

We seek to bring out the serious side of Grenache, a substantial full flavoured expression such as we seek with our Shiraz.

  • Rara Avis Barossa Valley Grenache 2024

    $35.90

For this Rara Avis we are talking about the big style so it needs the long lunch or a grand evening dinner.

  • Bengalee Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

    $17.50

The Bengalee left Hamburg with German settlers on 10th July 1838 and arrived in Adelaide on the 19th November, 1838. It is likely a few of these arrivals later found their way to the Barossa Valley becoming part of the fabulous Barossa wine story. We picked up that story in 2008 when we released our first Bengalee Shiraz.
