The difference between wine qualities is not as clear cut as consumers may think and comes down to the judgment of the maker and the drinker. To make the great bargain it is essential is to discover a base red that is of high quality and underpriced. You never have three or four to choose from and those we discover are usually in small wineries that sell wines at high prices.
Those that do not make the owners perceived high grade are ones we seek. They are perfectionists with high self-belief and the discards are of high quality. Glug believes they make mistakes in grading quality and price which provides us with a chance. We also hold large stocks of reds of different varieties and qualities which allows us to modify the base wine to the price point that makes sense.
