It comes though from lower elevations so tastes like a cool climate Barossan or a wine from Eden Valley.

Bengalee Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022
$16.50The Bengalee left Hamburg with German settlers on 10th July 1838 and arrived in Adelaide on the 19th November, 1838. It is likely a few of these arrivals later found their way to the Barossa Valley becoming part of the fabulous Barossa wine story. We picked up that story in 2008 when we released our first Bengalee Shiraz.

Durif from the Riverine town of Griffith is exceptional and with our experience with Rutherglen Durif we knew it would blend well with Barossa Shiraz. The ABV is 15%. Shiraz with Durif is a Wonder.

There are other varieties planted, though all in small lots, that have been trialled for several decades and these include, Carignan, Durif, the many Portuguese port varieties, Primitivo or Zinfandel and many others.
