• Goat Square Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $15.80.Current price is: $11.00.

This style of wine is what we wished to make when coming to the Barossa. This is achieved by using simple wine making methods, summed up as pick, ferment in small open fermenters, settle and age in old, oak puncheons.

  • Crayford Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $10.00.

We enjoy wines like this Crayford when younger though the wine will hold up well for many years.

  • Karrawirra Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2021

What a beautiful wine, the result of perfect vintage, the 14th for KarrawirraKarrawirra is a traditional Glug brand so expect a traditional interpretation of a Barossa red.

  • Oakley Adams Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2022

    $12.80

Impressive Shiraz and the reason we return time and again to Langhorne Creek for wines that combine high quality with customer value.

  • Roxton McLaren Vale Shiraz 2021

Original price was: $14.60.Current price is: $10.00.

Ninety minutes of pleasant driving across the Adelaide Hills links McLaren Vale with the Barossa Valley, the two most important districts within the Adelaidean Mount Lofty range. This Roxton is a fine example of the McLaren Vale style and a nice foil to our Karrawirra Barossa reds.

  • The Green Patch Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Original price was: $13.80.Current price is: $9.00.

Boutiques now make more wine than they can sell at the high prices they charge. Indeed 50% of the current oversupply is called ‘premium’ for the first time ever. Glug hunts through this surplus to find wines we bottle as ‘One Offs’ like this Green Patch. Now you see them, then they are gone.

  • Old Moppa Road Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $14.50.Current price is: $10.00.

The Barossa Valley is a remarkable wine region to visit. To move from admiring the landscape in the manner of the occasional visitor to having a profound knowledge of the how the landscape evolved (geomorphology) has given me much satisfaction.

I know Old Moppa Road very well. It runs along the western edge of the northern Barossa Valley a location with many old vine vineyards. Alas for this vintage we could not buy grapes from the location we wanted along Old Moppa so moved further north to secure supply.

This vintage was a true Barossa vintage without prolonged hot spells nor unsettling cooler periods. So out of 50 vintages the 2022 would be like about 25 of them. You want to sit with the average not the extremes. Looks good in the glass as I write this note but am wary about long term cellaring.

The wine is rich and deep but all vintages make me cautious as the unexpected can appear as they age, so 10 plus years is not recommended – unless you are happy.

  • Glug ‘Sunday Drive’ Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2023

    $14.60

Adelaide Hills vineyards are small and variable. A bit of good ground here and a further tiny parcel over the hill crest. Pocket handkerchief vineyards. Less common is exposure to the summer heat which ripens Shiraz and this ‘Sunday Drive’ we found irresistible and so purchased from a small garagiste maker. Cool climate though in the style of Eden Valley.

  • Bagot Station Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2023

Original price was: $13.40.Current price is: $9.00.

Drink this vintage sooner not later as the extraordinary aroma is its great joy.

  • Goat Square Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022 375ml bottle

Original price was: $8.00.Current price is: $5.00.

A consistent expression of Barossa Shiraz in its fifteenth vintage, made with simple methods to highlight ripe, plump fruit and soft texture. Gentle handling and no new oak keep the focus on drinkability, delivering an honest, “salt of the earth” Barossa red.

  • Langdorf Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019

    $16.50

This is what the Langdorf tastes like – true Barossa.

  • Oakley Adams Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2023

    $12.50

There is a central spine of higher ground that runs down Adelaidean Mount Lofty Range and vineyards are planted up to 600 metres. The wines from these vineyards have cool climate flavours because of the altitude. This region east of Adelaide is termed the Adelaide Hills and is the source of this Shiraz. It comes though from lower elevations so tastes like a cool climate Barossan or a wine from Eden Valley.

  • Kitts Creek Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $15.80.Current price is: $10.00.

Classic Barossa Shiraz. Full, ripe and generous, just as we like it. Made from fully ripened grapes with light extraction, this 2022 delivers rich flavour now rather than needing long cellaring, showing why Barossa Shiraz remains unmatched for depth and value.

  • The Regions McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $14.50.Current price is: $10.00.

McLaren Vale Shiraz shaped by the cooling influence of the nearby ocean, where maritime freshness meets inland heat. The 2022 vintage delivers a rich, powerful style at 15.3% alcohol. A big wine that shows why McLaren Vale stands alongside Australia’s great coastal regions.

  • Fareham Estate Clare Valley Shiraz 2022

    $15.40

There is something about the geography of the Clare Valley and how this reacts with the climate that finds its way into the Shiraz and Cabernet. They bring to the glass an additional and unusual fragrance, a minty delicacy, which is quite thrilling.

  • Limited Release Batch JZ3 Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $10.00.

Glug blends its own wines with carefully chosen parcels discovered through opportunity buying and refined by bench trials. Shiraz, planted in the Barossa by the mid-1800s, found its ideal home here, where the climate consistently delivers the rich, deeply flavoured style recognised around the world.

  • Bengalee Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Original price was: $16.50.Current price is: $10.00.

The Bengalee left Hamburg with German settlers on 10th July 1838 and arrived in Adelaide on the 19th November, 1838. It is likely a few of these arrivals later found their way to the Barossa Valley becoming part of the fabulous Barossa wine story. We picked up that story in 2008 when we released our first Bengalee Shiraz.

  • Stockwell Creek Barossa Valley Shiraz Durif 2022

Original price was: $22.50.Current price is: $12.00.

A powerful Barossa blend showing the harmony between Shiraz and Durif. Rich, deeply coloured and full of flavour, it reflects years of experimenting with Durif to create a bold and distinctive Barossa red.

  • Karrawirra Single Vineyard ‘Fan Block’ Barossa Valley Shiraz 20

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $10.00.

The final bottling, only 30 cases, so released as a Cellar Range. For small bottlings we can print in-house as using specialist label printers is very expensive for small numbers. Classic style from a great vintage. A bargain.
