-
Light & Finniss South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
$10.90This is the way our winemaker likes his wines which is to let the mystery unfold as you taste.
-
Farmers & Growers ‘The Ploughman’ South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Original price was: $8.00.$5.00Current price is: $5.00.QDR’s is shorthand for quaffing dry reds which is a Glug specialty. They are handcrafted from a base of the major variety which is adjusted with wines from premium regions.
-
P.B. Burgoyne McLaren Vale – Barossa Valley – Langhorne Creek Cabernet Shiraz 2015
$12.40These wines have been aged in large oak barrels by Glug over many years and parts have been purchased in bulk from other growers. This is an important distinction as the wines were only bottled a few weeks ago. This is the best way to provide mature flavours that are fresh and vibrant.
-
Dolans, Sobels & Hope ‘Squatters Three’ Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
$13.80This Cabernet is part of the five star red haul that we purchased over 2024. The Cabernet is made in the manner of the Leasingham Bin 56 of the 1970s-1980s.
-
‘The Regions’ Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$14.80One our best ever purchases came late last year which I termed ‘the five star winery haul’ and that is the source of this beautiful Clare Valley Cabernet-a five star winery. As for the source, well our lips are sealed.
-
Cellar Range Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Original price was: $14.50.$11.00Current price is: $11.00.Back in October we were given our choice of barrels of Clare Valley reds from a five-star rated winery. While they retained the very best to be able to select what we wanted from the rest we knew was a rare honour.
-
Glug ‘Broken Slate’ Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
$14.70Combine this with the elevation of the Clare wine district and add in weather that brings the heat of the inland south, and you have a mix of elements ripening the grapes that creates unusual and magnificent flavours. In this way the Cabernet has a minty Clare twist to the flavour and a depth of colour like no other Cabernet region.
-
Roxton McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Original price was: $14.60.$10.00Current price is: $10.00.McLaren Vale has won more Trophies and Gold medals for Cabernet than for Shiraz and this is attributed to the ocean influence and associated cooling breezes. Globally it is believed that the best Cabernets come from districts with a maritime location, a view developed from the French understanding of flavour development.
-
The Regions Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$13.80The reason there are so many Glug brands is because we prefer to bottle each wine to preserve the difference, however tiny. Overriding all of the small differences is the flavour of the Barossa Valley and the Glug style which favours full flavours. Expect from us a red over 14% alcohol as we are not excited by the flavours of low alcohol reds.
-
Fareham Estates Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Original price was: $15.60.$10.00Current price is: $10.00.A big rich, juicy Cabernet, minty, intense flavours, being part of the ‘five star red haul’ we stumbled across in mid-2024. Five stars being the winery rating of the wine writer James Halliday. Halliday published ‘Clare Valley-the history the vignerons and the wines’, in 1985. He devotes a section to Fareham Estate which was founded in 1966.
