The job of Glug is to discover the best value in town, make the wine, present this to you and explain the reasons why. Our long term favourite district has been Langhorne Creek. Langhorne Creek is on the western side, of the great south-east plain of South Australia, while over on the eastern side is the famed district of Coonawarra.
In 1964 companies began planting a district to the north of Coonawarra. A place initially called Keppoch and later Padthaway. A grand start was made to market the term Padthaway to consumers, though by the 1990s this was stumbling as many districts with greater appeal were also competing for attention. This now means the grapes from Padthaway can be purchased on favourable terms and this quality can be passed on to consumers at lower prices.
Really this explains the simple approach of Glug which is to make the discoveries we believe will appeal to our customers. This Oakley Adams is a full flavoured Shiraz in our style as confirmed by 14.8% alc./vol.
