The high quality of Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale is readily accepted by experienced drinkers and I believe this is due not only to quality but also familiarity.
Many of the world’s greatest Cabernets come from cooler districts that have ocean frontage, such as Margaret River and Bordeaux, France. They show a particular elegance that at times combines with minty flavours, a feature of cooler district Cabernet.
McLaren vale is warmer than these districts though you will not mistake the variety in this Hope Farm whereas a Barossa Cabernet is a step further from this accepted ideal.
Excellent wine and worthy of the use of the Hope Farm brand which is based around the districts historical, wine making pioneer, Pitches Manning. The first Hope Farm Cabernet was the 2013 vintage.
