-
Harem ‘Rosita’ Barossa Valley Rosé (Grenache Mataro) 2022
$21.00About this Rosé I said, ‘Forget the insinuation of the pale delicate rusty pink colour, as this is simply very great wine which is fruity, bone dry, bitter-sweet and offers challenges’. Insinuation meaning – because it’s a rosé do not expect a simple, quaffing, sweet style. This comment applies to the remarkable Rosita 2022 which will develop for many years.
-
Grandma Raethel Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019
$19.50They are released when ready to drink though the maturation must take place in the barrel not the bottle.
-
Knotts Eden Valley Nero D’Avola 2021
$12.80Glug likes varieties which offer our customers a slight shift in taste. Even better is when a small winery has made more than can be sold allowing us to purchase at keen prices. Hence, after a taste we had no hesitation purchasing the few barrels of this delicious Nero D’Avola, surplus to this tiny winery
-
Glug Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet Mataro N.V.
$12.80I preach younger is better and in this case this is balanced by the wine being recently bottled and freshened with 2022 just before bottling. I see the role of this wine as being for the many occasions where a drink is required but not worthy of opening one of the best bottles.
-
Stockwell Creek Basket Pressed Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021
$22.50Irrespective of vintage the Barossa Valley has a reputation for full flavoured wines the result of the latitude, elevation and the way warmth is trapped. With Shiraz the results are often astonishing, and a richness with mid-palate weight is achieved that exceeds all other comparable regions. Vintage 2021 is close to 10/10.
-
Bagot Station Barossa Valley Shiraz 2023
$13.40Young reds from the right vintages without hard extract are magnificent. This Bagot reminds me of those deeply coloured and powerful Moulin a Vent-Beaujolais, I imported in the 1970s. Deep in colour, one glass led to another, as did the bottles. How can wine be so pleasant. This vintage produced wines with a pronounced aroma and the winemaker has highlighted this with a light touch in the winery-such as no pressings added back. A must buy though will not evolve into a Karrawirra.
-
Mount Eagle Eden Valley Montepulciano 2021
$14.10Montepulciano is a southern Italian variety and the Eden Valley with a more Mediterranean climate than the Barossa is the best place to see how this variety performs in our southern climates.

-
Old Moppa Road Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
