• Crayford Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021

    $14.80

We enjoy wines like this Crayford when younger though the wine will hold up well for many years.

  • Roxton McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

    $14.60

McLaren Vale has won more Trophies and Gold medals for Cabernet than for Shiraz and this is attributed to the ocean influence and associated cooling breezes. Globally it is believed that the best Cabernets come from districts with a maritime location, a view developed from the French understanding of flavour development.

  • Dolans, Sobels & Hope ‘Squatters Three’ Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Original price was: $13.80.Current price is: $10.00.

This Cabernet is part of the five star red haul that we purchased over 2024. The Cabernet is made in the manner of the Leasingham Bin 56 of the 1970s-1980s.

  • Oakley Adams Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

    $12.80

Barossa Cabernet that changed perceptions. While tradition says the best Cabernet comes from cool climates, Australia proves otherwise—great Cabernet thrives from the Hunter to Clare, and especially the Barossa. The Oakley Adams release captures this fresh identity: bold, elegant, and proof that if the wine tastes good, you’ve found the right place.

  • Crayford Barossa Valley Shiraz Durif 2022

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $9.00.

What varieties can be used to make wines that create a taste that carries the global badge ‘made in Australia’. Shiraz for sure as it takes on another dimension in our warm regions. Of the many hundreds of other varieties it is work in motion though a Glug favourite for stardom is Durif.

  • Oakley Adams Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2022

    $12.80

Impressive Shiraz and the reason we return time and again to Langhorne Creek for wines that combine high quality with customer value.

  • Parawatta Eden Valley Riesling 2022

    $14.80

If Riesling has its type location in Germany and Austria we next have to ask why Riesling can make such a superlative wine in faraway Australia. Let us just enjoy that these wonderful tastes exist and thank the versatility of Riesling.

  • Roxton McLaren Vale Shiraz 2021

    $14.60

Ninety minutes of pleasant driving across the Adelaide Hills links McLaren Vale with the Barossa Valley, the two most important districts within the Adelaidean Mount Lofty range. This Roxton is a fine example of the McLaren Vale style and a nice foil to our Karrawirra Barossa reds.

  • Colton & Hewett McLaren Vale/Barossa Valley Cabernet Shiraz 2015

    $11.80

The common sense drinker should only think of what is in the glass and this maturing red delivers.

  • The Green Patch Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Original price was: $13.80.Current price is: $7.00.

Boutiques now make more wine than they can sell at the high prices they charge. Indeed 50% of the current oversupply is called ‘premium’ for the first time ever. Glug hunts through this surplus to find wines we bottle as ‘One Offs’ like this Green Patch. Now you see them, then they are gone.

  • Mount Eagle Eden Valley Cabernet Syrah 2022

Original price was: $14.10.Current price is: $7.00.

The best way I can describe this Mount Eagle is to appreciate that the medium density, the result of the location, displays a range of flavours, perhaps fragrant, which tend to be masked in wines from the adjoining Barossa Valley.

  • Mount Eagle Eden Valley Shiraz 2021

Original price was: $14.10.Current price is: $7.00.

    Excellent Eden Valley Shiraz.

  • ‘The Regions’ Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

    $14.80

One our best ever purchases came late last year which I termed ‘the five star winery haul’ and that is the source of this beautiful Clare Valley Cabernet-a five star winery. As for the source, well our lips are sealed.

  • Cellar Range Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

    $14.50

Back in October we were given our choice of barrels of Clare Valley reds from a five-star rated winery. While they retained the very best to be able to select what we wanted from the rest we knew was a rare honour.

  • Crayford Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2023

Original price was: $14.80.Current price is: $10.00.

Shiraz forms the stable known base. Grenache has alcoholic strength but less palate taste and brings to the blend beguiling aromas and a different palate impression to Shiraz. Yet what are these two without Mataro which maintains order by rearranging both and providing a strength of character particularly on the back palate. Still the genius of this wine remains the Grenache.

  • Glug ‘Sunday Drive’ Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2023

    $14.60

Adelaide Hills vineyards are small and variable. A bit of good ground here and a further tiny parcel over the hill crest. Pocket handkerchief vineyards. Less common is exposure to the summer heat which ripens Shiraz and this ‘Sunday Drive’ we found irresistible and so purchased from a small garagiste maker. Cool climate though in the style of Eden Valley.

  • Glug ‘Broken Slate’ Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

    $14.70

Combine this with the elevation of the Clare wine district and add in weather that brings the heat of the inland south, and you have a mix of elements ripening the grapes that creates unusual and magnificent flavours. In this way the Cabernet has a minty Clare twist to the flavour and a depth of colour like no other Cabernet region.

  • Glug ‘The Long Shot’ Barossa Valley Primitivo Shiraz 2023

    $13.70

This is a red you will enjoy being a blend of the Italian variety Primitivo with our local favourite Shiraz. Shiraz is the outstanding variety for Australia and rises to heights that eclipse any other Global region. The blend with Primitive works as this variety also responds to our local summer heat. A pleasing addition to the Glug portfolio.

  • P. B. Burgoyne Eden Valley Shiraz 2022

    $13.60

There are some fabulous vineyard clusters and those developed by the Henschke family at Keyneton illustrate the wine quality that can be achieved. The origin of the Burgoyne Shiraz is from the low Eden Valley where the reds are plumper than the far cooler high Eden. Still the low parts of the Eden Valley are one hundred or more metres higher than the Barossa Valley so expect a Shiraz that highlights different flavour aspects.

  • Bagot Station Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2023

    $13.40

Drink this vintage sooner not later as the extraordinary aroma is its great joy.
