Who was to know that plantings of Sauvignon Blanc along the river terraces of the Wairau River, draining the northern end of the South Island of New Zealand, in 1973 were to produce a taste sensation. Evidence, should it be needed, that a few of the many chemical’s making up the taste are enhanced in some regions by the climate to give the wines an additional appeal. Such is the fortune of New Zealand.
Glug did not make this wine yet the style it represents is so special that we knew we needed to list an example. So, this wine is made by a specialist and is bottled by them. You may be interested to know that after decades of struggling to keep up New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is now plentiful, and it is our good fortune to buy this well.
Glug has a long history with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and in 1982 won a Trophy at the National Wine Show in Canberra for a Sauvignon Blanc made by the New Zealand winery Selaks.
