The news about wine exports just gets worse. For local drinkers this is positive as the wine will have to be sold somewhere and will appear in your local bottle shop all the way across to Glug.
We do not cover the country but are active along the Adelaidean Mount Lofty Range which contains numerous districts making a wide range of styles. Our discoveries are brought back to the Barossa Valley where we then do the blending, bottling and labelling. Most of these wines appear once and cannot be repeated.
We recently found an astonishing collection of reds in a five-star winery in the Clare Valley and knowing we would not see its like again purchased more than usual. Mostly though wines like this Cabernet Merlot are discovered, bottled, sold and do not appear again. If they do it will be a different wine and maker. These are good wines but not the pick of the crop.
