This Shiraz will prove to be one of the great Restless wines.
Great vintages happen when everything goes just right such as a long even ripening without stress on the vine and thus the bunches of grapes. The excitement grows that 2021 will be one of the classics and I have my finger crossed that it may equal the 1996.
The two wine regions that I have altered my opinion on of over the last 30 years are Rutherglen and Langhorne Creek and I now rate both much higher than in my youth.
Of course, Wolf Blass with his feats from the 1970s – three Jimmy Watsons with Langhorne Creek fruit – got me thinking though it was a group of specialised studies to do with landscapes that busied me from 1999 till 2013 that profoundly altered my position.
A Shiraz like this I have now come to expect when conditions are perfect and this Restless is a marvellous addition to the Glug portfolio.
