Showing visitors the real Barossa entails a trip along Old Moppa Road which cuts through what I call Grange country.
A special sub district of the Barossa well off the regular beat. Old family vineyards with many of great age, bush vines that are gnarled and low to the ground.
Unusual wind-blown soils that sit on top of older soils and Barossa ironstone make this a paradise for those that look down not up. And yes the 2019 reds are simply splendid.
