Welcome back Padthaway and let’s see if the well-seasoned customers of today will enjoy your full-flavoured wines as much as the customers of the 1980’s. Perhaps, hard to believe that thirty years ago Seppelts, Orlando, Hardys and Lindemans all offered a range of wines branded with the district Padthaway. All gone as districts like Margaret River, Adelaide Hills and the Yarra Valley found more favour with customers.
Padthaway is now like Langhorne Creek of the 1990’s, the source of spectacular wine which is used to improve the wine from more recognised districts. There are 4000 hectares of vines in Padthaway (Langhorne Creek 6000 hectares) and they are there because the district is favourably positioned to produce wonderful bunches of grapes.
This Kincraig is an exceptional Shiraz Cabernet of high quality that has emerged out of the wine glut which alas is growing.
