Wineries conduct bench tests and in this way, make imaginary Trial Bins all the time. It is what winemakers do. They ask what happens when wines A and B are combined. This is tested at the test tube level as that is how the winemaker’s knowledge grows. In medium sized and large wineries, the tests stop at this point. Marketing controls the release of new products not the production side of the business.
Glug being a tiny company can take a different approach and during 2016 and 2017 decided to release our blending trials as Glug labelled wines. These are small volumes from 20 to 30 cases created for customer interest. Naturally we believe they are good to drink.
This Glug Cabernet Shiraz continues this spirit.
