2021 was a very fine vintage. As the best I have seen since moving to the Barossa in 2004 my rating is 10/10. As stocks are low it is appropriate that the best barrels become part of the Individual Barrel series. Please note tasting is subjective so ten good tasters looking at ten good wines will lead to at least eight being nominated as the best. Also do not expect huge differences between individual barrels are they are variations on a theme being from the same parcel of grapes off the same vineyard blocks.
Incidentally the first individual barrel selection was the GH33 Shiraz from 2016. They are worth producing in good years as they represent our desire to display wines in a new way. Customer response has been good, and we are thankful for that. Expect a full rich, very ripe, strongly flavoured Barossan which delivers complex flavours. They preserve a difference so simply enjoy them for this aspect.
