Karrawirra Single Vineyard ‘Shea-Oak’ Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
$26.00Because we sell direct, plus offer wines under dozens of brands we do not have the constraints of larger companies. And importantly our ethos is different to a tiny winery offering a few reds and whites.
From this thinking Glug began bottling the best wines as Karrawirra Single Vineyards and others like Goat Square Ziegnmarkt, Brutus and Harem Sultan. Quantities bottled are under 40 cases of each. This Karrawirra She Oak is our best Cabernet from 2019.

-
Glug ‘Alpha’ Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022
$14.50An excess of premium wine is building quickly. Even the Barossa Valley will not be spared as production is up 50% in the last 10 years and prices of the fashionable boutiques has doubled, perhaps more. This Glug Alpha is another purchase from a local boutique.
-
Limited Release Batch 14G Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
$14.60This Glug Batch 14G Barossa Cabernet is the best of many we have been offered. You can purchase with confidence – let us do the worrying. The alcohol at 14.4% is about right. Glug likes Barossa Cabernet at around 14.5%.

Terrene Estates Barossa Valley Shiraz Mataro Grenache M.V.
$12.60Original price was: $12.60.$9.00Current price is: $9.00.Just delicious and why weren’t wines of this type a regular part of our drinking decades ago. Why were they not made? The three varieties that thrive together in the Australian warm climate districts are Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro and they have been around since the start.
-
Goat Square Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$15.80Cabernets can shine to reveal a different expression to those of cooler maritime localities.
-
Glug ‘Bethany Road’ Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
$14.20Original price was: $14.20.$11.00Current price is: $11.00.Barossa Cabernet is different to those from cooler districts being warmer and riper on the palate and this ‘one off’ is very much in the Glug style.
-
Glug Exploring The Full Flavoured Reds of SA Mix
$110.00The reds of South Australia are very special. The reason is the geography of the premium vineyard regions means the climate is a balance between cooling and ripening in a way which is not found anywhere else on the globe.
-
PB. Burgoyne Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
$11.80Cabernet grapes from warmer regions like the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley make exceptional wines though both districts have been sidelined by the rise of Cabernet wines from the cooler Yarra Valley and Margaret River. This Cabernet was bottled by Glug and you can approach it with confidence.

Glug Barossa Valley Mataro Shiraz NV
$12.80For this bottling Mataro is dominant and the amount made increased by adding Barossa Shiraz. The Mataro and Shiraz are premium wines, so we are satisfied with the result. For this bottling Mataro is dominant and the amount made increased by adding Barossa Shiraz. -
Crayford Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2023
$14.80Shiraz forms the stable known base. Grenache has alcoholic strength but less palate taste and brings to the blend beguiling aromas and a different palate impression to Shiraz. Yet what are these two without Mataro which maintains order by rearranging both and providing a strength of character particularly on the back palate. Still the genius of this wine remains the Grenache.
-
Kitts Creek Barossa Valley Grenache Mataro Rosé 2023
$14.80Not those cool climate versions made from whites that are then given a hint of pink from a bucket of Shiraz. No as I’m talking about grapes in the Barossa Valley, picked a bit earlier than for a red, for the single purpose of making a Rosé.
-
P.B. Burgoyne Eden Valley Pinot Gris 2023
$11.60Pinot Gris is perfect for the coolish Eden Valley.
This P.B. Bourgoyne was sourced from a boutique we have been buying surplus from for about seven years.
-
The Green Patch Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
$13.80To describe the setting for this Cabernet we must return to the debate of the role of climate-weather in the development of wine flavours and from this whether cool climate wines are better than warm climate wines.
-
Auld & Burton Clare & Barossa Valley Cabernet Merlot 2017
$12.20At Glug, wines come and go quickly. Here we have used two varieties from two regions in various proportions. I find more Clare in the final blend than Barossa so look for a touch less heat and higher altitude flavours. Finally explaining the Clare flavours continues to defy me.
