Roxton McLaren Vale Merlot 2023
Original price was: $14.60.$8.00Current price is: $8.00.Roxton has a long history as a McLaren Vale brand though had faded and abandoned by the 1960s. The advanced customer should compare and enjoy Merlot from McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley with our view being McLaren Vale has the edge.

Roxton McLaren Vale Shiraz 2021
Original price was: $14.60.$8.00Current price is: $8.00.Ninety minutes of pleasant driving across the Adelaide Hills links McLaren Vale with the Barossa Valley, the two most important districts within the Adelaidean Mount Lofty range. This Roxton is a fine example of the McLaren Vale style and a nice foil to our Karrawirra Barossa reds.

Roxton McLaren Vale Grenache Rosé 2024
$14.60Rosé made from the warm climate varieties, Grenache, Mataro and blends of the two is sensational. We have steadily built our Barossa Valley range and recently a bulk purchase from McLaren Vale creates the first under the famous old Roxton label.

Landaus Vintners ‘The Diviner’ South Australia Shiraz Grenache 2022
Original price was: $8.80.$7.00Current price is: $7.00.I rate this Diviner as the best we have made and that is because of the base we discovered last year. Also supplies of warm climate Grenache have improved allowing us to spread this resource into wines like the Diviner.

Glug ‘Sunday Drive’ Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2023
Original price was: $14.60.$8.00Current price is: $8.00.Adelaide Hills vineyards are small and variable. A bit of good ground here and a further tiny parcel over the hill crest. Pocket handkerchief vineyards. Less common is exposure to the summer heat which ripens Shiraz and this ‘Sunday Drive’ we found irresistible and so purchased from a small garagiste maker. Cool climate though in the style of Eden Valley.

Fareham Estates Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Original price was: $15.60.$10.00Current price is: $10.00.A big rich, juicy Cabernet, minty, intense flavours, being part of the ‘five star red haul’ we stumbled across in mid-2024. Five stars being the winery rating of the wine writer James Halliday. Halliday published ‘Clare Valley-the history the vignerons and the wines’, in 1985. He devotes a section to Fareham Estate which was founded in 1966.
-
The Regions Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$13.80The reason there are so many Glug brands is because we prefer to bottle each wine to preserve the difference, however tiny. Overriding all of the small differences is the flavour of the Barossa Valley and the Glug style which favours full flavours. Expect from us a red over 14% alcohol as we are not excited by the flavours of low alcohol reds.
-
Fareham Estate Clare Valley Shiraz 2022
$15.40There is something about the geography of the Clare Valley and how this reacts with the climate that finds its way into the Shiraz and Cabernet. They bring to the glass an additional and unusual fragrance, a minty delicacy, which is quite thrilling.
