Borderland Estates ‘Flocking Galloots’ South Australia Sauvignon Blanc 2023
$8.60Glug simply loves Sauvignon Blanc. We were there in the mid late 1970s promoting the variety when the elite shunned it – indeed they were scathing of its potential.

Telegraph Road South Australia Shiraz Cabernet 2018
$7.50Our idea for this Telegraph Road was two good base wines which in-turn are blends and both with adequate barrel age. Wines like this are not world beaters but useful drinks and please note they have been bottled al late 2023 from barrel stock.

Vine to Glass McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020
$14.30What a beautiful Shiraz, full, rich but firm and shows no sign of excess. This gem fell our way late last year and is now in bottle, being part of the steady build-up of high-quality boutique wines which we are nibbling at. Drink this with a similar Barossa and enjoy the differences. Alcohol at 15.4% shows the style.

Waitohi Springs Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc 2022
$12.50We were in two minds about this Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine passes our taste tests yet was already in bottle. The wine is true to style and because the flavours of Marlborough and New Zealand have such distinctive characters we badly needed an example for our customers since it is the biggest selling wine style in Australia. We did our best. You will love the wine but value wise it just sneaks in.

Light & Finniss South Australia Shiraz Cabernet 2018
$10.90This Light and Finniss is in the Glug model of full flavours from ripe fruit.
-
Light & Finniss Fleurieu Peninsula Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
$11.50Colonel Light and Boyle Finniss began the job of surveying South Australia on the Western side of the Fleurieu Peninsula on the 17th September 1836, 141 years before this Cabernet was made and named after them.
-
‘The Regions’ McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020
$14.50Tasting McLaren Vale wines with those of the Barossa Valley is a fascinating experience as the chill of the Ocean plays with the summer heat of the ripening period to different degrees. Both districts should be a regular part of your drinking and the subtlety is to see the difference and not say one district is better than the other.

Glug Exploring The Full Flavoured Reds of SA Mix
$110.00The reds of South Australia are very special. The reason is the geography of the premium vineyard regions means the climate is a balance between cooling and ripening in a way which is not found anywhere else on the globe.
