Salem Valley is a place name in the Barossa Valley which adjoins the town of Angaston. Should you ever make it to the Barossa Valley the drive along the main street is a must as many houses date back to pre-1900. The church dates to 1855. Quite remarkable and another aspect of the Barossa that tourists would not know of and would not visit.
We use this brand when we need to bottle a wine which is not mainstream and does not fit say Goat Square or Karrawirra. This wine then is made from the leftovers of two bottlings of our premium range, a Shiraz and a Cabernet. The small amounts left over were then combined and became this Salem Valley Cabernet Shiraz.
The first Salem Valley was a Viognier from 2013. Incidentally that wine was made by the great Robin Day who was instrumental in creating the first Jacobs Creek red the 1973 which was released in 1976. That wine was not of course a Barossa though Jacobs Creek is a stream in the Southern part of the Barossa Valley.
