Cellar Range Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

$14.70

A classic Barossa Shiraz shaped by the unique meeting of cool Southern Ocean winds and inland heat, creating the depth and ripeness the region is famous for. Powerful and full-flavoured at 14.9% alcohol, this is a final bottling with no more to come. Rich Barossa drinking in the Glug way.

Why is the Barossa Valley so Special? By the grace of geology and landscape formation the Barossa is ideally positioned at the right latitude and elevation where the cool west winds generated by the Great Southern Ocean meet the inland heat of the continent.

The Barossa Valley is inland from the coast and at a critical change where the coastal range swings eastward behind the valley. I call this the Gawler gap. A place where the cool winds can flow into the warmth of the Barossa Valley. A one in a million chance. At this spot it is possible to ripen red varieties to extremes that are not equalled elsewhere on the Globe.

Shiraz and Cabernet are outstanding and the 2022 Cabernet and 2023 are  Glug expressions of this climate. They are great buying today. There are no more to be bottled. The last-that’s it! This wine is big at 14.9% alcohol by volume.
