Wine Makers Individual Barrel Series GH76 WIBS Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Original price was: $14.70.Current price is: $8.00.

So here we are with the final single barrel bottling. GH76 being the record keeping number. ’75 was when I began selling wine, a better ending, but we have no GH75 barrel. The WIBS idea has worked so lets celebrate that. The first single barrel was bottled in 2019 being from the 2015 vintage. There have been several dozen since. The alcohol at bottling of GH76 was 15% which indicates why we placed this barrel to one side. Beautiful wine which will keep for years. Good value today.

The Barossa Valley is about ripeness and density of flavour. That is its purpose in the World of wine.

A place where the tiny, thick-skinned berries creates an abnormal, powerful, concentrated colour and flavour. Now ten good tasters looking at ten good wines will lead to at least eight being nominated as the best. So the Individual Barrel Series is our selection of the few best barrels we make. They preserve a difference so simply enjoy them for this aspect. The first individual barrels were bottled in 2016. This was only possible because of new equipment made in Italy that miniaturised a million-dollar bottling line. What we had talked about for a decade was now possible, so we purchased the machine.

Single barrels are worth producing as they represent our desire to offer wines to customers in the new way, imagining they are tasting the best barrels when visiting a winery. Customer response has been good, and we are thankful for that. With a group of friends opening a range for comparison would make a great tasting.
