Preserving the difference was a foundation belief of Glug. Make small batches of wine and purchase single barrel amounts from boutiques The last 30 years has seen wineries closing small bottling lines from lack of efficiency and cleanliness. So how could we bottle such small amounts efficiently. Our attempts to bottle single barrels in 2010 caused massive headaches and was finally abandoned as impracticable. Years passed and we decided to have another go and right on schedule a salesman appeared with new machinery from Italy. Imagine miniaturising a bottling line in the same way as café sized espresso machines were compacted for the kitchen. So since 2016 we have been bottling the best of the best which are always in small volumes, and can be single barrels. The first bottled in-house single barrel was released in late 2017. They are now a regular part of the Glug yearly production.
