The best vintage from the Barossa we have in stock is the 2021. While Barossa wines taste good every vintage the climate-weather smiles once or twice each decade, and the wines rise another notch. I also liked the 2016 then further back the 2008 is brilliant while the 2006 was also superb. When you do a vertical tasting of say 25 vintages the best vintages stand out as they retain a youthful glow.
We keep the better vintages for a few more years in mature oak to age and then bottle. Since we charge no more you may as well focus on the 2021’s. Our stocks of 2021 are now low and this Reserve is one of the standouts. This Shiraz is in the Glug style being picked later which leads to higher alcohol. Will keep, though should be consumed over the next decade. You need a very cool to cold cellar to leave wines for twenty years or more.
